Hammer Hits Frightening

April 28, 2022

It takes two to tango. That is what is usually involved in a relationship. A relationship often starts very amicably, with both partners “dancing” in perfect harmony. Even if there is a bad step in their tango, it can be fixed in the next move or two. There are times when the magic in relationships goes south, and the magic goes away. Monroe Police responded to a call on Tuesday morning, April 27, 2022, involving two individuals in an altercation that became violent. According to reports, MPD arrived at Smith St. on reports of a disturbance. While on the scene, officers spoke with an unidentified individual who told officers that he was involved in an altercation with 29-year-old Henry Bernard Walker. Police reports say that the victim told them that Walker allegedly became physical after exchanging words with him. It is alleged that Walker became angry and began to hit the victims four times with his fist. The victim fell to the ground, and Walker allegedly got on top of the victim. Walker was then said to have grabbed a hammer, striking the victim another four times. Police then said Walker then left the residence and ran between two homes. Officers soon made contact with Walker, where he was placed under arrest. Walker was charged with Domestic Abuse Battery and Second Degree Aggravated Domestic Abuse Battery. There are three sides to every story. This was one side of this story. The Monroe Dispatch welcomes the other or another side of this story.
