Joe Louis Smith was born December 6, 1942 to the late Louis Smith and Queen Esther Jones Johnson in Bosco, Louisiana. He was a graduate of Carroll High School. He also attended Barber College where graduated and became a licensed barber. He worked as a barber part-time while working full time at General Electric Supply House as the warehouse supervisor. When GE Supply House closed, Joe went to Montgomery Ward and worked as warehouse supervisor until they closed. Not ready to retire yet, Joe made his way to Target. There he worked in the warehouse until retirement. On April 12, 2022 early, the "south" gates in God's glory were opened for Joe and he walked through to receive his reward! Along with his wife, Lee and their three daughters Marie, Naomi, and Sarah, Joe is loved by a myriad of nieces, nephews, cousins, neighbors, and friends who all will miss him dearly but will cherish the "gift" of his life he gave to each of them ... forever! Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever! Psalm 23:6. Visitation is April 22, 2022, from 5:30 till 7pm at Smith Funeral Home in Monroe LA. Life celebration is April 23, 2022 at 11am at Liberty Christian Center in Monroe LA. Masks required.
