Apartment Shooting, Two Injured - We all look forward to a peaceful, restful night of sleep, especially when we've had a rough day. The last thing we want to hear is gunshots. For one local couple, that happened. The shooting occurred on Evangeline Street and left two people injured when someone fired several shots into an apartment complex. The shooting occurred at about 1:00 AM, April 11, 2022 at the Shadow Hawk Apartments, as police responded to the scene to investigate. According to police reports, two individuals were inside one of the apartments and both were wounded by the gunfire. Law enforcement authorities said that neither of the individuals suffered any life-threatening injuries. The victims were reportedly asleep when the incident happened and were taken to a local hospital for treatment. As of press time, police have not announced any more information concerning the shooting, nor if there was more than one shooter involved. Police are urging anyone with information to contact at 318-329-2600 or Crime Stoppers at 318-388-2274, where a cash reward is given to that individual if there is an arrest/indictment. If a tip is successful, that person's identity will remain confidential, as no name will be revealed, nor would they have to appear in court.


Shooting Victim Dies - A local man who was shot on Dunn Drive in Monroe has died. It had been reported that Torance Davis, who was shot Friday, April 7, 2022, was found in serious condition with a gunshot wound to the abdomen. Davis reportedly died over the weekend. According to police, Davis was alive when they arrived, as he was taken to a local hospital to be treated and was listed in serious condition. As of press time, police are asking for the public's help in solving this shooting by calling MPD at 318-329-2600 or Crime Stoppers at 318-388-2274.


Houses Hit By Gunfire - Gunfire reportedly struck two houses in a Monroe neighborhood on Friday evening, April 8, 2022. According to MPD, the hit on the houses located on Conrad Street was the result of an alleged drive-by shooting. MPD officers did an investigation and learned that the alleged vehicle used in the shooting was a white Chrysler 300. A quick search of the area ended when the vehicle was spotted, and four alleged suspects were taken into custody. Officers also said that two handguns were discovered in the vehicle. Two of the suspects were identified as adults and the other two individuals as juveniles. The adult suspects were identified as D'terrius Brothers and Brandon Coleman. They were both booked at Ouachita Correctional Center (OCC) and charged with Assault by Drive-by Shooting. The juveniles were taken to and booked at Green Oaks Detention Center.
