The pandemic has shifted a lot in our world, but nothing has changed more than the way we gather. Coming from a society that centers a lot of activities in and around the church, these past 20 months have changed my perspective on the body of Christ. I like most that we now see we can accomplish the same - if not more - without doing things the way they have always been done. It is probably best that there is more flexibility in worshipping. Some things in the church seem to be done out of obligation or tradition and, in some ways, have become performative. Although tradition is important, I find it important to evolve with the times. I enjoy fellowshipping with other believers, but I like that I no longer feel the pressure to attend church in the traditional way. I enjoy having the convenience of connecting to a Christian message any time of day. Most importantly, this time has allowed us to create a unique relationship with God. Before, it felt like God could only be accessed through a minister or pastor; we now accept that He is available to us at any time. I believe knowing God dwells within us is far more valuable than meeting him once or twice a week in a building that represents Him. I now feel a closer relationship with God. As the world continues to evolve, I believe that is an intention of Christ. People develop a deeper, more significant relationship with Him, it changes their hearts and minds, and our society grows in the fruits of the Spirit.
