Quinton Jamal Shields ("Quik")

Quintin Jamel Shields ("Quik") was born in Monroe LA on November 22, 1983 to parents James Anderson Shields and Tracy Ann Richard. Quinton was the eldest of nine and was proud to begin the legacy of his siblings with an outspoken and infectious personality. Quinton accepted the Lord into his life at an early age at First Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Pastor A.J. Mansfield. He attended J.S. Clark Elementary in Monroe LA, forest Meadow Jr. High and Lake Highlands Freshman Center in Dallas TX. With an extraordinary personality, Quinton family nicknames included "Cujo", "Cherry" and "Quilla" by Grandmother Ruby. Quinton continued his education at Carroll High School in Monroe LA graduating in 2002. He was a dedicated student athlete who ran track and played football. Quinton relocated to Dallas TX, but would return to Monroe during Carroll Homecoming activities as a loyal Carroll Alum. He moved back to Texas from LA where he spent the remainder of his life, later becoming affectionally known by family, close friends and classmates as "Quik"! Quinto "Too Quik" and Courtney "Ray Ray" started their music group RHG. He leaves behind his music group (RHG) Management and promotion team to continue and keep pushing the legace. The promotion and management team includes JKing Entertainment, D. Ross, Shannon Smith and LaDarron Harper. Quinton managed the success of Antonio Sherfield, Michael Johnson, Andrew Bucker and Keith Richmond. Quinton had a love for sports, music and fashion. He was well-known for wearing the latest and freshest "Kicks"! Everyone loved Quinton for his kind heart, authentic comedic spirit and generosity toward others. He displayed much respect, love and admiration towards his parents, family and friends. Although his earthly life was taken abruptly, God allowed Quinton's soul to rest safely in His Arms on Sunday March 13, 2022. Left to cherish precious memories are his parents James A. Shields, Sr. and Tracy A. Richard, two children Qureem Renae Shields and Oaklyn Jamel Shields, their mother Anqunette Riggs, grandmother Ruby Richard, three brothers O'Shea (Shataqua "Tot") Williams, James (Adrian)Shields Jr., Bradley Ampy and Carmen Warbington, four sisters Jamie Richard, Quinyonna "Janel" Richard, Helen "Cat" Shields, Lakrisyunna "Nikki" Ampy, and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, relative and close friends who loved him deeply. Funeral services are Saturday March 26, 2022 at 1pm at First Missionary Baptist Church in Monroe LA. Viewing is 12-1pm.
