Who's to Blame?

March 10, 2022

Proverbs 22:6 Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it. With so much violence and dysfunction amongst today's youth, many are pointing finger; but who is really to blame? Some say it’s some of the Church's fault for compromising the Word of God, and not properly demonstrating the true love of God. Some say it’s some of the teachers’ fault for not caring or properly educating. Some say it’s the local government's fault, for not properly allocating funds to and neglecting certain parts of the community. All of the above are definitely contributing factors, but accountability starts with the parents and the perpetrators of these crimes themselves. Whether one agrees with this or not, it all starts at home. Parents, though the Church, local government and educational institutions, hold some responsibility as well, it is nobody else’s responsibility to train our children in the way they should go. It is parents’ duties, to introduce their children to Christ, love, discipline, teach, care for and nourish them. If we don’t, who will? Children don’t need parents telling them not to do something only; parents also need to be examples. Children watch us. What we do and allow them to do, speaks louder than words. What is your action speaking to your children? I pray all of the right things, because there are enough negative influences out here. Parents, God has entrusted you to train up your child in the ways of righteousness- not the vanity of this fleeting world. It’s time to get a grip on the younger generation, that still has hope. Too many are self-destructing before they get a chance to truly know what life is. It STARTS at home; so please, start at home TODAY. Tomorrow may be too late.
