Monroe Housing Authority/Youth Empowering Youtb 2022 Black History Program was held at the Henrietta Johnson Community Center in Monroe LA on Saturday February 19, 2022. This year's program focused on teaching local youth about the rich heritage they have right here in Monroe, Louisiana - and how by standing on the shoulders of both nationally known and locally grown black history makers allows us to see a bright future. 2022 honorees were Harrington Watson Jr., Dorothea Bridges, Dr. Andrea Miller, and Mr. Andrew Hill. The guest speaker was Dr. Harrington Watson, III. Spirited songs were lifted by The Wossman High School choir and MHA's own Phillip Simmons. Special thanks to BHP coordinator Tamika Riley.
