It is with our deepest sorrow that we inform you of the passing of our loved one, Mr. Lawrence Augurson Sr., who departed this life on February 15, 2022, in Dallas, TX following a lengthy illness. Mr. Augurson was always an advocate for civil rights and an appropriate example of this was his participation in the Million Man March on Washington DC in October of 1995. He was very proud of his work in the community as it relates to increasing voter registration. Known for his ability as a great speaker, he was always willing and available to assist when the need presented itself. He was a member of the St. Matthews Church of Christ Holiness in Monroe LA, where he served as a deacon for numerous years until he was unable to fulfill his duties. One of his greatest passions was attending church, spending time with family and friends and assisting others. He believed in living each day to its fullest and we the Augurson Family can certainly attest to that. He will be sorely missed by so many and will live in our hearts forever and ever. Funeral services are Saturday, February 26, 2022 at 11:00 A.M. at Greater New Antioch Baptist Church, 301 Sherrouse Ave. in Monroe LA.
