Ms. Consuela Marquise Hunter, a democrat is thrilled to announce her candidacy as alderwoman for the town of Rayville, district eighteen. She is a LIFETIME resident in the town of Rayville, Louisiana. She is the daughter of Mrs. Irma Lee Holmes Curry Hunter and the late Albert Charles Hunter. I am the granddaughter of the late Mrs. Ollie Jackson Jones, Ms. Rosie B. Turner, Mr. Julius Holmes, and Mr. Dennis Hunter, Sr. Sister to Michael Serone Sr. and Linda Gayle Curry. A single parent of one adult son Xavier and one Goddaughter Shraaya. A product of the Richland Parish School System, she is a proud class of 1988 graduate of Rayville High School, home of the "Rayville Hornets". She is a 1993 graduate of Grambling State University with a bachelor's degree of Arts in Social Work and an Associate of Arts degree in Criminal Justice. Consuela is a 1996 graduate of Grambling State University with a master's in social work degree with a concentration in Health and Mental Health. After years of working as a Generalist and a Licensed Master Social Worker for the state, she is presently working as the Behavioral Patient Navigator for Glenwood Behavioral Health Unit in West Monroe, LA. The sustaining power of faith to the HIGHEST is an ongoing factor in Consuela's life. She is an active member of the Macedonia Baptist Church of Rayville, Louisiana. Dr. Mark Anthony Sledge, pastor. Consuela serves as the assistant to the pastor, president of the Deaconess Ministry, program co-chair of Macedonia Baptist Church program committees, Sunday School Song Leader pre-covid.

Consuela has always shared the passion of being an advocate for community service and promoting the wellbeing of others. She is a financially active diamond life member of the Monroe Metropolitan Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated. Consuela has served in many capacities some of which include corresponding secretary, vice president, chair of the health and mental health, membership and services, Black history, arts, and letters committees. Consuela is also a member of the Rayville High School class of 1988 alumni and a member of the Rayville Rosenwald/Eula D. Britton Alumni Association where she has served as recording secretary.

PLAN OF ACTION: I am an advocate and visionary for our town, laws, community, the elderly, children/youth, schools, businesses, and churches. Once chosen as your town alderwoman, it is my goal to assist in the improvement of programs already implemented and move forward with better programs that will enhance the productivity of our town by Working with the administration.
