New Year's Eve Bullet from the Sky

January 13, 2022

Police are investigating after a 10-year-old boy was hit in the face by a bullet that was fired during New Year’s Eve celebrations and fell from the sky. The child was hit about 10 PM. The bullet went in the boy's cheek and out his throat. It broke two of his teeth. “You have to be careful not to shoot the weapons up,” the boy told authorities pointing at his wounded cheek. “The (bullet) could fall down, and that thing could kill someone.” He was on a swing set in the backyard of a home in New Orleans when the bullet fell. The youth was looking at the sky and listening to fireworks when he got off the swing with blood on him and began crying. The child was taken to a hospital, and is now recovering at home.
