Since Deion Sanders signed on the dotted line to be head coach at Jackson State University, he has worked relentlessly to spread the good word about Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) to Black athletes. His efforts have increased conversations amongst top recruits considering attending HBCUs. He is also working to create more equity for Black athletes at HBCUs. In recent news, JSU has secured an official commitment from Travis Hunter, one of the top recruits in the class of 2022.
