Ruth Hunter Varner, the oldest matriarch of the College Point community, transitioned to be with the Lord on Tuesday, December 14, 2021. She was the oldest and one of the last descendants of the famous Wesley's Barbecue clan. She was well known throughout the College Point community where she lived for over 75 years. People always enjoyed stopping by her house to have a glass of tea on a Sunday after church.
