Johnny Hall Reed

1949 - 2021

Johnny Hall Reed was born on September 5, 1949 to the union of Willie and Oddie Reed Sr. He was preceded in death by his parents Willie and Oddie Reed, brothers Willie Reed Jr., Robert Reed, Jerry Reed, Lawyer Reed, and Dennis Reed. He was drafted to serve his country a few days after finding work in Michigan. He served in the United States Army from 1969-1971, stationed in Germany. On May 15, 1976, Johnny married his high school sweetheart, Patricia Ann Goins. To their union, a daughter, Felicia, was born. He had a very special bond with his daughter. The twosome were inseparable and were always seen everywhere together. He would share a similar kinship with his only granddaughter, Morgan, with whom he also shared many special memories.

Those who knew him best will never forget his jolly spirit, integrity, and love for family. His favorite saying was, "Always tell the truth, God loves people who tell the truth."

Reed passed away on Wednesday, June 30, 2021 in Shreveport after battling four different cancers.

He leaves to cherish his memories: one daughter - Felicia Reed-Wines(Terasheo); one granddaughter -Morgan Wines, whom he referred to as "Papa Baby"; his brothers and sisters - Willie Mae Wilson, Herbert Reed (Emma), Beverly Mariland, Leon Reed (Patricia), Herman Reed (Linda), Donnell Reed (Lela), and Charles Reed (Yushelia); three aunts - Gloria "Gloradean" James, Mary "Sue" Hines, and Ellen "Marie" Lewis; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Visitation and viewing of the body are scheduled for Friday, July 9, 2021, 5:00 - 7:00 PM at Tennant Funeral Home (1014 Harrison St.

Rayville, LA 71269). His graveside funeral service will be Saturday, July 10, 2021, at 11:00 AM at Richwood Memorial Garden Cemetery in Richwood, LA. Funeral services are entrusted to Tennant Funeral Home of Rayville, LA.
