Monroe Dispatch - No Struggle, No Progress

Last year brought many disruptions to our lives. The experience of living through a global pandemic has had a tremendous impact on how we live now and in the future. I am so glad we have turned a corner, and it is now safe to gather, travel, and be social once again. Operating a business that serves children has been a challenge in this past year. I was forced to shut down the doors to Dazzle Dance studio in March of last year. In an effort to mitigate spreading the virus, we shifted to online classes and completed the season with a virtual recital. We began our 2021 season in February with hybrid in-person and online classes, requiring each dancer to wear a mask. This weekend, Saturday, June 5, 2021, we will host our in-person recital at the Monroe Civic Center, Jack Howard Theater. It has been a challenging season, but I am so proud of the girls who have pushed through the difficult season to continue their dance training. This has been another experience to show that we cannot always predict or control what happens to us, but we must persevere and move forward, navigating hard times in our lives. My prayer is that the girls at Dazzle Dance see and know that they too have everything they need, and with some adjustments, can succeed. An important virtue one should possess is perseverance. Now we will celebrate with a spectacular show that has been specially created to show people how we celebrate a joyful life! Thank you to the wonderful Dazzle Dance parents, who I now consider extended family. Your support in this season has been vital to our success. I am grateful for the opportunity to work with your amazing daughters! Thank you to Dazzle Dance supporters who have cheered us on from afar. I am so happy to have the opportunity to support our community through the arts.
