Reading the Signs

There are road signs that signal important messages as we drive. They are important to us because they give clarity on if we are going in the right direction or need to make a detour. They even sometimes alert us if there are pending obstacles in our way. Now and then when I travel to a place that is unfamiliar I can get lost no matter what the directions read or what the signs say. I sometimes second guess my map or my instincts and get off course. I then feel compelled to ask for help from some who, in my opinion, "looks like" they may know the way, and I scope out to find that person. When I get desperate or frustrated I will sometimes stop anyone in my path with absolutely no judgment. I just want to get where I am going! I eventually get to my destination nonetheless, sometimes content with the direction taken, and other times upset with all it took. Our route to Christ, now more than ever can be a pretty complex one. The path to Christ is similar to traveling to getting to unknown physical locations. We can do our best to stick to the route, but may very well get lost, misinterpret signs, or take the wrong advice for direction. In either circumstance we have a choice when we are lost. We can either get upset with ourselves, or we can take a deep breath, pray, & figure out how we can head back in the right direction to our destination. Where are you in your journey with Christ? Are you headed in the right direction – living a fulfilling purposeful life and helping others? Or are you stuck on the side of the road around the wrong people who are misleading you? Wherever you are the decision is always yours to make. Lucky for us we still have time to get to our destination before it is closed, but don’t want too long to change your direction!
