Joseph "Joelah" Guice's Celebration of Life

Joseph Guice

Joseph Guice was born December 25, 1957 to the late Lucas and Dorethea Guillot Guice. He departed this life on January 13, 2021, after a brief battle with cancer. He was a great guy who would help others. Joseph was a true servant who had a giving spirit. He was noticeable with a kind kindred spirit which will be missed His humble demeanor was contagious yet welcoming. Joseph was baptized at Holy Ghost Catholic Church in Marksville LA, later locating to Monroe LA becoming a member of Little Flower Catholic Church. At Little Flower, he was a member of the Knights of Peter Claver Court #160, as well as participating in many church ministries as an usher. Joseph was employed in many positions with the City of Monroe and General Motors Guide Corporation in Monroe LA. He was preceded in death by his wife Shirley Heckard, his parents and sisters Regina Greenhouse and Bernadette Guice. Left to cherish fond memories are his significant other Bernadine Kegler Monroe LA, six sisters Velita (Leonard) Benjamin Zachary LA, Connie St. Romain Marksville LA, Mary (Sherry Ray) Wilson Monroe LA, Ophelia Guice Lafayette LA, Anna (Perry) Ferraro Breaux Bridge LA, Jannis Guice Monroe LA, two brothers John (Patricia) Guice Atlanta GA, Van (Ruth) Guice Bunkie LA and a host of family and friends. Graveside Services were held Monday January 18, 2021 at Holy Ghost Catholic Church in Marksville LA.
