Carroll High School Athletic Legend Willie R. Robinson was a member of the first State Championship Football Team in 1953 at Carroll High School in Monroe LA. He was born in Delhi, LA. Willie attended elementary school at Monroe Colored High. He transferred to Carroll High School (CHS) when it was built in 1953. He was a member of the Carroll High School Football Team from (1953-56) which won 28 games and lost 4, which included one State Football Championship, two Northeast Louisiana and three district titles. All of Willie's teammates had a deeply brotherly love for each other. As a matter of fact, the surviving (10) members keep in touch with each other. During his high school years (1953-56), Willie lettered in football, basketball and baseball. In 1956, he served as class president, co-captain of the football team, and was selected by faculty and student body as the most "Popular Boy" in high school, while he earned Salutatorian honors. To God be the Glory!
