The Current status: As you are aware, colleges, and universities in Louisiana have been devastated by recent and consistent budget cuts, having lost over 57% of state revenue in the past 12 years. With the support of local dues, and annual fundraisers, our chapter has tried to do its part. However, with your support, we can do more and make a difference.

From the Monroe-Ouachita Chapter: -Presented no fewer than 3 academic financial scholarships annually, totaling over $70,000-Sponsored students to Athletic Camps.-Annual financial contribution directly to the Athletic Department; funded by our yearly “Evening with GSU Athletic Department” event, totaling over $84,000 in 18 years.

-Recruited and transported hundreds of high school students to Grambling’s High School Day.

-Alternative contributions to support tuition and textbook cost.

-Sponsored trips to Athletic Events.

-Direct donations to specific Academic Departments

-Year-round recruitment process

-Donations to Annual Radiothon

-Consistently support projects to other GSU Alumni Chapters

-Established 2020 Endowment $10,000

-Support to local student activities

-TOTAL FINANCIAL SUPPORT TO GSU (at least) $210,000 over the last 25 years.

-We conduct monthly meetings. Our officers operate with full disclosure to dues paying members.

-Decision making is through a democratic process with monthly printed financial statements.

-MONTHLY MEETINGS: First Thursday of each month at First Baptist Church 507 Swayze St. Monroe LA at 6 PM.

Our goal is to increase our local membership by 300 proud new supporters.
