Teen Anger Dangers

October 8, 2020

Apparently, it is inevitable that teens are not going to stop committing crimes and violating each other to the point of killing. You have to wonder what degree of anger would bring a person to kill another over "the way he looked at him" or over "a pair of tennis shoes" or over "what somebody said he said..." We really cannot grasp that kind of anger. There must be more deep-rooted reasons than what we are seeing and hearing on the surface. There are many psychological reasons why tempers flare. There are days that many people wake up angry. Sime people say teens get angry based on the changes that their bodies are going through. Their hormones are causing mood swings and confused emotions. Some of it could be "Stress". One may say that a teenager should not have any reason to become stressful. That is not true because some teens have adult responsibilities at home which can sometimes create stress. Peer pressure is a strong indicator for anger, especially if situations are gang-related or drug –related. If money comes into the picture, there are other reasons that provoke them. Unfortunately, they are caught up in a psychological web which has to be uncomfortable because they are no longer engaging in the carefree activities that teens engage. Their lives are burdensome, and they are angry because they do not have the tools to get out of this vicious web. Teens who are angry and prone to kill another person do not possess Self-Control. Because anger is so powerful, managing it, even for adults, can be challenging. It takes plenty of self-awareness and self-control to manage angry feelings. Some teens do not have the skills nor the guidance and support to accept the fact that some things are not worth their anger. Some things are not worth throwing their lives away being incarcerated. Nor is there anything worth having to look over your shoulder until someone seeks them for revenge. Hopefully, one day, a miracle can take place to bring them to a school of thought that life can be better than it is at this time. Shootings and killing are not the answer to a problem, even though they think it is at the time. It is sad to see a population of young people dwindle away because of their lack of understanding consequences have grave consequences. Look at one of the "Jena Six" who got out of his teenage drama and went on to become a lawyer. There are other young men who have managed to turn their lives around, while the vast majority are incarcerated or died too soon. Perhaps, all they need is an opportunity, a friend, or a prayer and definitely a lot of Love to dispel their anger.
