The road to glory has no appointed date or time. Sadly, former Monroe resident Donald Givens went home to be with the Lord on Friday September 8, 2020, according to a family friend. This year has been extremely hard on families with many unexpected deaths during this pandemic. Givens was a former teacher in the Monroe City Schools Sherrouse Alternative School where he taught social studies. He was also a retired LA State Trooper.
