Joseph Bernard Smith was born to the late Freeman Smith, Sr. and Cleo Jackson Smith on December 16, 1952 in Monroe, Louisiana. On August 31, 2020, Joseph "Joe" Smith Sr. peacefully went home to be with the Lord. Joseph was preceded in death by seven siblings: Curtis, Billy Ray, Alpha Jane, Aubrey, Sr., Freeman, Jr., Dana and Carrie. Joseph gave his life to Christ at an early age and was baptized at Rose of Sharon Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Rev. J. B. Brown.
