Christians are a chosen (picked out by preference) generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a peculiar people; that you should show forth the praises of him who has called you out of darkness into marvelous light. (1 Peter 2: 9) Christians have been born again of God 's incorruptible seed, by his Spirit, which lives and abides forever. Therefore, the new man (person) is renewed in knowledge after the image of God who created him. (1Cor. 15: 42) as the elect people of God we will walk in holiness, godliness, mercy, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, long suffering, with a forgiving heart.
