On July 10, 2020 the Southern University Alumni Monroe Chapter awarded scholarships to three area students. These students will be attending Southern University beginning the fall semester, 2020. The $3,500.00 in scholarships were awarded to Victoria Rencher of Ouachita Parish High School, the daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Varner Rencher, Jr.; Skylar Parhms of Neville High School, the daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Carlton Parhms and Brandon Horne of Neville High School, the son of Mr. & Mrs. Marcus Horne. The Southern University Monroe Alumni Chapter awards scholarships each year and as stated by SU Alumni President, Dilcie Green and Scholarship Chairperson, Charles Hearns, donations are always accepted and appreciated.
