Police reported that a wait at a local fast food restaurant drive-thru led to fatal shooting that left one worker dead, Saturday, August 1, 2020. Victim, Desmond Joshua Jr., 22, was working at an Burger King drive-thru when orders were backed up due to restrictions set in place to address the spread of the COVID-19 virus. Joshua was confronted by drive-thru patron, Ashley Mason, who became upset about the wait time and became confrontational with Joshua, threatening to call her boyfriend.
