James L Cooley Jr. established the 4200 Group in 2012 while he was enrolled at Arkansas Baptist College in Little Rock, AR. After studying and majoring in business, he decided to move back home to Monroe, LA. That same year he continued to learn good business and entrepreneurial practices from his father. The first products he made for his company were handmade dog houses for dogs that needed shelter. The more dog houses he built the more recognition he received for his talents.
