Mayor Mayo has over 20 years of business experience working with companies such as State Farm Insurance, Allstate Insurance and Chase Manhattan Mortgage Corporation.

His focus areas are: Economic Development, Public safety, Partnerships in Education, Beautification, Housing and Growth, and Marketing Monroe. Monroe is a seven-time winner of the Louisiana Municipal Association Community Achievement Award. Four of which were for economic development.
