America, this too will pass!

In times like these when fear, panic and uncertainty is gripping the nation, when social gatherings are becoming smaller and smaller, when citizens are facing isolation, when older citizens are left to endure hours and days of loneliness, we as a nation have to find a way to cope with the Coronavirus pandemic, and tap into our willpower to “hang in there” during such a crisis. Yes, it is expected that things will become worse before they get better, but we are a resilient people. While we have not faced a pandemic of this magnitude or one quite like the Coronavirus, pandemics are not new or foreign to the world in which we live. The unfortunate thing about Coronavirus is that there are no known cures or treatment protocols. I am certain that with our medical genius, technology, the full force of government and the wherewithal to succeed even in the face of the Coronavirus, as a nation we will persevere and press on to find a way out of this crisis as well. We must be aware that we are part of a global event which has serious and deadly consequences, and the situations of peril and risk are changing rapidly (hourly) due to the inability to contain and slow the spread of the virus. We must take the risk seriously because at the moment we do not know exactly what might await us and certainly we don’t know what the future may hold. As we have overcome other doomsday events and scenarios, such as Y2K, Polio, Black Plague, typhoid fever, the Aids virus, H1N1 and other scares, with faith in God, adhering to the advice of medical experts and of course, using common sense measures, we will make it through some of the most challenging times in the history of the nation. We ask all persons of faith to pray mightily, asking that the favor, grace and mercy of God cover our homes and families at a time such as this, just as it was done during plague concerning the Israelites who lived in the land of Egypt. It is encouraging to note that Asian nations are already turning the curve on the coronavirus, and so will we. It must run its course.
