No community is immune to gun violence. Gun violence has no warning signs, horns blaring or light flashing signals. It does not matter the time or day its threatening to those who are involved or not. One never knows the day, time or event when danger lurks. According to police reports on April 16, 2020, police were called to a drive-by shooting on Barlow Street in Booker T. In Monroe LA. The victim's residence had been shot at four times from the street where a bullet traveled through a window following a threatening text message from Suspect Rekeenah Kellogg. Contact was made with the suspect on April 17, regarding the investigation where the suspect admitted to being the driver of the vehicle in the crime. The suspect was assisted by a cousin which was only supposed to scare the victim, while the suspect did not realize the cousin was going to shoot at the victim's residence. The suspect was arrested and charged with assault by drive-by shooting. The cousin was charged with attempted second-degree murder. There are three sides to every story. This was one side of this story. The Monroe Dispatch welcomes the other or another side of this story.
