Ronnie "Big Pill" Washington

At Richwood High School in Richwood LA, there were many exceptional athletes. One was the late Goldie "Sonnyman" Sellers along with countless others mentioned last week. However this stellar athlete was held in reserve. Ronnie "Big Pill" Washington played football at Richwood during the 1980's. Ronnie was a beast and a ferocious linebacker who was noticed by many college recruiters in conferences including the Big 12, SEC, Sunbelt, and SWAC. Ronnie chose to demonstrate his talents at NLU now University of Louisiana at Monroe. His gift was noticed by NFL scouts as he was drafted by the National Football League in the 1985 Draft to the Atlanta Falcons. He played five seasons in the NFL with the Los Angeles Raiders and Indianapolis Colts. In the NFL, Ronnie "Big Pill" Washington was known as "Clubber" due to his hitting ability, giving offensive players nightmares. Ronnie a ULM Graduate, was inducted into the 2007 ULM Hall of Fame. He gives all the Glory to God, his people and grandparents who raised him to be respectful, obedient and patient. Through his journey, Ronnie became an entrepreneur of Ron's World Famous Cajun Boudin and a single father who's raised six children.
