Prophet Dewayne Black

Prophet Dewayne Black, affectionately known as "Den Den", was born on April 11, 1970, to the late Henry and Pearl Guillory-Black in Monroe, Louisiana. He was the youngest of 16 siblings. Prophet Black was a well-known and highly sought out Evangelist who traveled throughout the United States as one of God's most faithful ambassadors. He operated fully in his anointing as he preached, prophesied and delivered the Word as he was led of the Lord. But his ministry in song was undeniably the most powerful of his many gifts and anointings. Whenever he lifted his voice in praise and worship, yokes were destroyed, strong holds were loosed, and many gave their lives to the Lord. Prophet Black was a faithful member of Living Water Outreach Church where his brother, Elder Luther Black, is Pastor. He served as the choir director and chief psalmist for the church. He was always ready to preach, pray, and praise the Lord! He was a lover of the things of God and the people of God. He was an extremely friendly and loving person. Many of his former classmates and teachers fondly remember him as a child who loved to entertain the class by singing church songs whenever he was allowed. He was a play writer in the Monroe area. As founder of D& B Production, he produced 3 Gospel Plays. Prophet Black catered and decorated in his spare time. Many may know him as the "Pecan Man," selling Diamond Delights pecan candy all over the city. Due to the rapid growth of COVID-19 and the need for social isolation, we cannot have a proper funeral for him. In the future, we the family will hold a memorial in his honor. He was currently in Detroit, MI. Prophet Black was preceded in death by his loving parents, Henry James Black and Pearl Guillory-Black, and two brothers, Henry James Black, Jr. and Anthony Guillory. He made his heavenly transition on Friday April 10, 2020. He leaves to cherish his memory and celebrate his life: a devoted fiancée, Arabia S. Stephenson; six brothers, Joseph (Sheila) Gulledge Portsmouth, VA; Albert (Tara) Guillory Ft. Worth, TX; Calvin (Stephanie) Guillory Round Rock, TX; Jimmy James Black Ft. Worth, TX; Herbert Black, Pastor Luther (Andrea) Black, Monroe, LA. Eight sisters, Sherlie (Talton) Cooper Mineral Wells, TX; Sandra Anderson Lake Charles, LA; Linda (Allen) Lewis Ruston, LA; Alma Jean Lewis Tulsa, OK; Henrietta Ward Ft. Worth, TX; Ruthie Sewell, Carolyn Dade, and Lucille (James) Lewis, all of Monroe, LA, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. On behalf of the Black Family, thank you so much for the love displayed to us on the untimely passing of our beloved family member, Prophet Dewayne Black. We appreciate every display of love by way of prayers, phone calls, text messages, emails, listening ears and financial assistance. Your act of love has not gone unnoticed. We love you and God Bless."We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord. Wherefore we labour, that, whether present or absent, we may be accepted of Him."2 Corinthians 5:8-9
