Family's Devastating Loss

Victoria & Everette Mansfield

Although life is filled with many ups and downs in this world, there are simply some things for which we just are not prepared. Losing a child is one of the hardest things that anyone can ever experience. No one is ever prepared for the loss of a child. When we face death, one of life's ultimate challenges, we realize how fragile life truly is. It has never been promised to us that we will live as long as we want. What we can concentrate on is how to live the best life we have been given. A Bastrop family is going through a heartbreaking situation that no one could ever imagine would happen.

According to local reports, Bastrop police are currently investigating a devastating tragedy that claimed the life of a mother and her son. On Sunday, April 5, it is alleged that a shootout led to a fatal accident where innocent bystanders were killed. Shots were fired at a moving vehicle in a Bastrop, LA neighborhood. A car, trying to escape the shootout, struck Victoria Mansfield, 35, and her four-year-old son, Everett Mansfield, who were outside for a walk.

It is alleged that the driver who struck and killed the two is a minor whose name has yet to be released. Police are searching for suspects who fired shots at the vehicle. Please call Crime Stoppers of North Delta with information about this crime at 318-388-CASH.

Please pray hard for the victims' family.
