Derrick A. Green 41, passed away peacefully on Friday February 21, 2020 at his home. Derrick was born on September 30, 1977 in Monroe LA to Howard Green and Dixie Green Smith. He attended West Monroe High School and worked for Taco Bell for 21 years. Derrick was a loving, kind and humble spirit. He was known for his wonder sense of humor and his contagious laughter among family and friends. Derrick is preceded in death by his father Howard Green. He is survived by his devoted stepfather Roy Smith, loving mother Dixie Smith, one and brother and best friend Alonzo Green, one sister Matasha Green, a very close and dear nephew Andre' Marquis Green and a host of uncles, aunts, nephews, cousins family and friends. Visitation is Friday March 6, from 1-6pm at Smith Funeral Home 907 Winnsboro Road Monroe LA. Flowers and donations are welcomed. A homegoing celebration of Derrick's life is Saturday March 7, 2020, 2 pm at Philadelphia Word Center 115 Arnold Dr. Monroe LA with Rev. Alfred Mack officiating. Interment will follow at Richwood Memorial Gardens 2705 Richwood Rd. #2 Monroe LA under the direction of Smith Funeral Home.
