South Pointe Retirement Community Monroe LA observed Black History Friday February 28. Monroe Mayor Jamie Mayor was guest speaker. It was a spirit-filled celebration bringing back many memories as some spoke of hardships experienced. At the program, Thanks to the Lord was given while special presentation and acknowledgements were made. Also, in attendance was Ouachita Parish Police Juror Michael Thompson. Residents and guests lifted every voice while a feast was enjoyed by all. Sharon Taylor is manager of South Pointe Retirement community.
