Monroe Dispatch - No Struggle, No Progress

The City of Monroe's annual State of the City Address was held Thursday, February 13, 2020, at the Monroe Civic Center Arena. In addition to discussing various city initiatives, highlights, and challenges Mayor Mayo spoke about the 2020 theme "Monroe Smart City." Monroe Smart is about combining information, communication and technology to make life better for the people of Monroe. Mayor Mayo highlighted the various current and future Smart City initiatives being embraced to help provide more efficient services, save taxpayer dollars, and engage residents.
