African American Museum Black History Celebration

The NELA Delta African American Heritage Museum in Monroe LA is celebrating Black History Month with a special program Saturday, February 15, 2020 from 3 – 5:00 pm featuring the world-renowned exhibit Wandering Spirit: African Wax print. The exhibit is a tribute to the century old handmade designs and patterns on textiles that were exported to Africa and then became ingrained in African culture and society and adopted as their own. Also featured will be art by Bernard Menyweather, music by Karen Gant, and poetry by Jamie Mayes. This is a special opportunity to tour the Museum, see a fantastic exhibit and performances, as well as become a supporter of the Museum for half price! Small admission fee at the door. A free drawing will be held for a 7-day vacation stay at beautiful Florida resort near Walt Disney World in Orlando sponsored by Rep. Pat Moore, District 17!
