Carroll 1956 - For the Good Times Carroll 1956 and Carroll Friends standing James Orange, Robert Smith, Mary Pimpleton, Barbara Jackson, Willie Robinson, Rev Curtis Willis and Fred McHenry, sitting Modess Benjamin, Charity Bowers, Norman "Bearchest" Harris and Lucille Richards. Carroll 1956 came together recently after the death of two classmates.
Carroll "Big 15 Plus Reunion"
Carroll High School Classes of 1953-1972-If you were not in attendance at the August 2018 Carroll High School "Big 15 Reunion" (Classes of 1953-1967), we cannot adequately tell you what you missed, but let us try anyway! It was simply fantastic, outstanding, unforgettable, wonderful, perfect, and exceptionally pleasing and well done! Approximately 300 excited beautiful persons from 15 different classes participated. Former students of Monroe Colored High, Terzia (Richwood), Little Flower, Myles High, other rural schools of the area, and the many church schools of our past were represented. The Highlights of the occasion were the Grand Opening Day Reception at the Tri-District Boys & Girls Club, Prayer Breakfast at Piccadilly Restaurant, Memorial Service at Carroll High Auditorium and Tour of the School, and a superb Banquet at the Monroe Civic Center's B. D. Robinson Conference Hall. It was the best representation ever of our great High School! There were many wonderful informal gatherings at the hotel lobbies and clubs, and many out-of-towners enjoyed riding around the city seeing what is and what used to be. The laughter, hugging, and sharing of memories, were treasured. We ended with church service at Mt. Olivet Baptist Church followed by a well-attended Luncheon Meeting at Catfish Charlie's Restaurant. Participants returned to their homes with visions of Happiness and Fulfillment dancing in their heads. So, for you who could not be present at this impressive occasion, guess what? By popular demand, we are going to do it again . . . and we're adding five classes!
