It's only been a little while since Eugene Ellis become Monroe's top Cop. Mayor Jamie Mayo announced Wednesday January 15, 2020 the Monroe Police Chief Eugene Ellis was retiring. Being Police Chief is not an easy job, especially in times such as these. Managing a staff, police officers, equipment can be a job and figure the criminal aspects can be a bit much. Who will be the next Top Cop looms? Next person up is an easy alternative, yet it doesn't work like that! Good luck Monroe Police Chief Eugene Ellis on your retirement!
