Carver-McDonald Library Starting the Year 2020 off with a Bang! Saturday, Jan. 4 at 2 pm Emmy Award-Winning Cartoonist and Animation Director: Meet Byron Vaughns. Vaughns has drawn many notable cartoons, including Tiny Toon Adventures Character Buster Bunny, Alvin & the Chipmunks, The Smurfs, and the animated film characters in The Adventures of Brer Rabbit. His work will be on display, and The Adventures of Brer Rabbit will be screened.

Monday, Jan. 6 at 3 pm Traditional Folk & Bluegrass Music. Joshua Lightfoot will perform songs on historical and cultural interest from the 18th century.

Tuesday, Jan. 7 at 11 am Genealogy, Family History, & Ancestry Research: Library Genealogist Lora Peppers will show you how to trace your ancestor's unique story and your family tree.

Thursday, Jan. 9 at 11 am Check Your Credit Report: Regions Bank Financial Literacy Consultant will discuss what to look for in your credit report. Learn to detect suspicious activity and detect identity theft early.

Thursday, Jan. 16 at 9 am - noon American Red Cross Blood Donor Awareness Month: The American Red Cross hosts a blood drive outside the Carver-McDonald Branch.

Thursday, Jan. 23 at 11 am Yoga with Meditation & Nutrition: Children's Coalition Life Skills Coordinator Tammy Washington demonstrates yoga exercises to relieve stress. Bring your own mat.

Monday, January 20, 2020 your library will be closed for Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.

Tuesday, Jan. 28 at 11 am Manage Your Health: Physical Therapy & Beyond. Michael Hildebrand, an outpatient physical therapist, will discuss ways to prevent injuries, pain relief and general wellness of the body
