Soul artists Jerry Butler and Brenda Lee Eager, created a song in the 1970's entitled, "Ain't Understanding Mellow". Besides the memorable melody at the start and catchy baseline, the song is allegedly about the understanding of two people who are breaking up. In the song, the two share an understanding of the love they share coming to an end but keep a mutual love and respect for one another.
